Well, we'll take a bunch of malt (which is basically grain like barley, wheat or rye that has been toasted) and boil it up in a huge pot called a kettle. This makes a sweet liquid (think the milk that's left after you've had a bowl of coco pops).

But my beer is never that sweet

Ahhh that’s because during the boil we throw in some hops at various times.

Well, they're essentially a flower and different types impart different flavours. They kind of work the way tea leaves do, and like tea, the longer they are in the boiling liquid, the more bitterness they impart.

Well once we have filled our brew and we are just left with this malty hoppy liquid, we then transfer it into a fermenter with some yeast. The yeast then eats the sugars from the liquid and the by product is alcohol!

It depends on a bunch of things but to keep it simple, lets run with 2-3 weeks. Once the beer is fermented, it is transferred to another big old tank where we carbonate it.

Exactly! The last step then is to put it into your beautifully designed cans for you to skite about!
